ANDREA RINCIARI & JASON HENSON
MEET ANDREA RINCIARI
Andrea Rinciari is an Italian jazz musician based in London, known for his style rooted in the bebop and straight-ahead lineage. Inspired by the phrasing of saxophonists and pianists, he has developed an improvisational voice that is both melodic and deeply rhythmic — translating those influences naturally on the guitar.
“An extremely gifted guitarist: melodic yet steely, as good on rhythm as he is on 'lead'.”
— Jazzwise
A scholarship graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Andrea’s playing was also shaped by in-person study with the legendary Barry Harris, whose teachings left a lasting mark on his musical identity.
“Rinciari's beautifully harmonised take [of Tea for Two] is as good as any instrumental version I've heard.”
— Bebop Spoken Here
Deeply influenced by jazz greats such as Bud Powell, Charlie Parker, Tadd Dameron, Jim Hall, Sonny Rollins, Clifford Brown, Stan Getz, Horace Silver, Elmo Hope, Freddie Redd and Fats Navarro.
As a live performer, Andrea Rinciari is polished and charismatic, technically excellent and possesses a nice line in onstage patter, as well as an endearing sense of humour.
