MEET ALESSIO MENCONI

Considered to be one of the greatest guitarists in the World by many of his peers, fans, and various press, born in Genoa, Alessio Menconi approached music at the age of 8 by studying drums, and then turned to guitar two years later. Considered to be a prodigy, Alessio began his career as a professional guitar player at the ripe old age of sixteen.

Alessio has collaborated with many celebrated musicians such as Paolo Conte, Billy Cobham, Jeff Berlin, Jimmy Cobb, was invited to record an album with Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Hiram Bullock, Larry Coryell; and names like John McLaughlin, Pat Martino, Robben Ford, have all spoken highly of him. He has participated in numerous TV broadcast and various scores of films and theatrical performances throughout his career.  Winner of various awards such as "Gran Prix du Jazz", "Jazz Lighthouse Award" and Italy’s most prestigious “National Jazz Guitar”, Alessio is professor of jazz guitar at “N.Paganini” conservatory in Genoa, and teaches at Conservatories in La Spezia, Cuneo e Livorno. Alessio has performed on over 50 records.

MEET NIGEL PRICE

Over a career spanning more than 25 years, award winning jazz guitarist Nigel Price is one of the most highly regarded and in demand guitarists on the UK jazz scene today. He spent three years with UK funk legends - the James Taylor Quartet, was voted No.1 in the 2016 British Jazz Awards for ‘best guitarist’ and is also a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s, where he’s played around 600 times to date. His blend of flowing bebop lines and deep blues feeling has made him popular with jazz, blues and funk audiences across the World.

 

Nigel has toured extensively with his multiple award winning band, the Nigel Price Organ Trio, recorded widely - notably with Van Morrison, several Acid Jazz outfits, as well as ten releases with his own group. He is a leading advocate for UK jazz through his touring initiatives, and with his work through his charity ‘Grassroots Jazz’.

 

He is considered one of the top jazz guitarists in the UK and continues to be a major force in the genre.
