Fibonacci Guitars May Newsletter Phil Robson

PHIL ROBSON CUSTOM CALIFORNIAN

It has been a real pleasure working with award winning guitarist Phil Robson on his Custom Californian. The end result is a feather light (weighing in at only 2.1kg), highly resonant, incredibly versatile guitar.

Phil’s custom Californian comprises of a mix of three different Fibonacci models. Its outline body dimensions and venetian cut-away are based on our Californian model, its neck joint, scale length and body depth is based on our Diablo model, its F-hole and headstock design, and its combination of materials, being carved spruce top and carved flame maple back and sides is based on our Chiquita model. Added into the mix is a pair of floating Kent Armstrong pickups, being a ‘Jazzy Joe’ on the neck and a ‘Smooth Sam’ on the bridge, controlled by Bourns push/pull switching.
