FIBONACCI GUITARS OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

LONDON INTERNATIONAL GUITAR SHOW

We are please to let you know that we will be exhibiting at the London International Guitar Show again. Now in its fifth year, the show (LIGS) will return to Kempton Park Racecourse on 30th October 2022.

LIGS has all the trademark features of our other well-established events. These include an affordable entrance fee for visitors, sensibly-priced exhibitor costs with no added extras, free parking for all, good transport links including proximity to the motorways and even a railway station in the venue grounds. Long-distance visitors can also benefit from a large range of reasonably priced accommodation nearby. The last show attracted more than 150 exhibitors from all over the UK and Europe and this year promises to attract even more.

Based on the style of USA table-top exhibitions, LIGS is first and foremost a retail event. New, vintage and pre-owned guitars, amps and pedals will be available to buy, trade and sell from a host of retailers, distributors, manufacturers, luthiers, boutique makers and private collectors - not to mention a whole gamut of strings and accessories. As with all the Northern Guitar Show events, workshops, demonstrations and live music will be available in separate areas throughout the day, with some of the top names in the industry performing in an intimate setting. Public admission will be just £12 (pay on the door) with accompanied under-12's free. Doors 10:00 – 16:30.

FINAL GRASSROOTS JAZZ RAFFLE OF THE YEAR

Grassroots Jazz Guitar Raffle (End Date 16/11/2022 at 9pm). https://youtu.be/NYpZi6pyWfo

Hello jazz appreciator! This is the third and possibly final Grassroots Jazz raffle, designed to raise funds for jazz clubs without dedicated premises who did not therefore qualify for any help in the government's post- Covid arts recovery program. We have already prevented at least two clubs from closing so we’re making a real, positive different to the jazz scene here in the UK.

Every single entrant can claim two album downloads - 'Charlie Parker' by Martin Speake (featuring the awesome Mike Outram on guitar). Also 'Guitar Jam London Sessions Vol 2’ by Australian guitarist Tony Barnard featuring a star studded list of great guitar players - Jim Mullen, Louis Stewart, Dave Cliff and Nils Solberg. Without dedicated premises, official company status and no justification for £50,000 minimum grants these venues received nothing whilst larger venues and organisations did pretty well.

Some 97% of UK jazz clubs did not qualify for help. As a result we are already seeing closures. We cannot let this happen. Not on our watch. 100% of profits will go direct to the clubs. Check https://www.grassrootsjazz.com/ for the campaign's progress. Aside from all that, you get the chance of winning one of 14 fabulous prizes, all donated from establishments and kind people who believe in what we’re doing. Please buy a ticket and share the link!
