MEET JASON HENSON

MEET JASON HENSON

Jason Henson has worked with many of the world’s finest musicians, including Joe Lee Wilson, Bobby Wellins, Louis Stewart, Greg Abate, Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes, Simon Spillett, Herbie Flowers and Jonny Hepbir, among many others.

 

Through his work with Jonny Hepbir, Jason travelled to the gypsy campsites of Holland and Germany, playing with some of the great masters ofgypsy jazz and absorbing the authentic techniques and traditions of the style first hand.

 

His influences include Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Freddie Green, Charlie Christian, Lenny Breau, Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, Herb Ellis, Russell Malone and Billy Bean.

 

As well as appearing in jazz clubs throughout the UK, Jason has performed on the BBC and has travelled internationally, appearing at festivals, concerts and events around the world. Festival appearances include Love Supreme Jazz Festival, Ealing Jazz Festival, Swanage Jazz Festival, Bestival and Glasgow Jazz Festival among many others.

 

Jason plays a stunning custom carved Ambassador hand rubbed oil finished and fitted with a custom floating Jon Dickinson P90.
